On Friday March 9 2018, the Vice Chancellor at University of Exeter communicated with staff his position on the pensions dispute, after a week or so of strike action [attached].

On March 14 2018, the Senate of the University of Exeter, the senior forum for academic staff to shape University policy and strategy, passed a motion advising the University Council, the highest executive decision-making body in the University, as a matter of urgency to instruct the Vice Chancellor to seek to develop an alternative proposal in order to help to resolve the USS pensions dispute by revising problematic assumptions used by UUK [letter attached].

This motion was considered by Council on 19th March. The 'Council Note to Senate' contains the response to Senate from Council [attached].
